Problems with viper t56

Hey all,

I've had a D&D Viper T56 for about a year now. I'm starting to have issues with second gear. Occasionally it is somewhat sloppy when shifting to second on an upshift or downshift. I'm not sure how to describe the sound but its almost like something is hanging up.

Thanks in advance

it sounds like the synchros have some galling... if im right it is a cheap fix... just takes time to remove, disassemble, replace 50 dollar part, reassemble and replace....

Definition: A condition whereby excessive friction between high spots results in localized welding with subsequent splitting and a further roughening of rubbing surfaces of one or both of two mating parts.

Any other way to diagnose? Should I try a fluid swap. How often should you change trans fluid? Also when I'm shifting quickly during heavy acceleration I don't feel it at all. Could it be my shifting from 1st to 2nd at too low of an rpm range?

Thanks

You can try a fluid swap, but that should not be the problem unless you got the wrong fluid or something funny in it.

The RPM should not matter.
