How to remove epoxy primer off powdercoat?
Does anyone know a way to get epoxy primer (DP40) off something that's been powdercoated?
Thanks, Kevin |
I would try some dt885 and see if that touch's it if not try a small area with lacquer thinner and I would think it would be ok on powdercoat.Joe:)

Joe, thanks for the idea. I tried reducer and paint thinner in an area which didn't have much epoxy on it. It took the epoxy off, but left the powerdercoat with a different sheen look. I don't want if I want to try it on all of the areas just yet. In case I decide to use the paint thinner and don't like the results, can I paint over the powdercoat ( I know I should search)?
Thanks, Kevin |
You can color sand and polish powder coat just as you would paint. Obviously the type of part and intricancy [sp] will determine just how difficult it will be to perform the task. You can find lots of usefull information on PC on the forums at eastwoods website.
