Don't buy a Holley HP150 Fuel Pump!!!!!!
The first one lasted about an hour and was noisy as hell. Just installed the second one. Quiet but has gas shooting out of a port that must be for servicing the pump. All I can say is I am pissed beyond belief and the third time won't be the charm!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:fire:

well do you at least feel better after this short little rant? lol
just stick you finger in the hole and call it a day haha. or use one of those plugs from you r&p . |
Not one bit better actually....I would love to strangle those mother .........:D Man this is fun:lol:

I thought that first pump was bad based on your description. I would suggest a Mallory 140 pump. I have run them extended hours in 600HP applications with no issue. My street racer runs a pair of them, one for motor, one for nitrous. 100% reliable since 1998! They are reasonably quiet also.

Try to save a nickel and this is what happens to me. The only and I mean only place I saved a buck was an external fuel pump. Oh well...the beers are flowing and I am buying the best money will buy. Ill do my due diligence and it will have to wait until I get back from vacation. Nothing like redoing something three or four times.:D
I am open for suggestions. Have heard some good things about Mallory 140. Like the rep of aeromotive. I can't drive this car knowing that I had two fail in one hour. Next! Insert every expletive you can think of. LOL |
Well, Aeromotive have not exactly proven to be all that either in extended use applications. Don;t get caught up in the megadollar pump thing. You only need 7LBS of pressure and the 140 will deliver 14 all day. If it were a FI application you would be forced into the A1000

Do I need to run a bypass with the Mallory 140?

As I was telling you before, I run a bypass on my higher demand fuel systems. On a carburated 7LB set up you only need a tiny 1/8" return (oil pressure line size copper line) return just to stop it from totally dead heading against the needle and seat. It is not required but does help. But DO NOT go to big on the return or you will stave it at extended full throttle like at the dragstrip or simulated activities!

Man I would love to see this car, I leave for a month TDY to Vegas this weekend. Maybe we could hook up.
