Should I get the tall ball joints?

Hi guys, need some advise from you gurus out there.

I currently have the front end all apart on my '68 Firebird.
It will be setup with:

Global West upper arms
Hotchkis 2" lowering big block springs
1" sway bar
stock spindles with stock disc brakes
rubber bushings

While I'm at it should I get the tall ball joints?
...or even the X-tall ones?

The car is just a weekend cruiser, no drag racer or auto-X-car but I do like to see some improvements in handling. For the rear I've bought the G-bar from Savitske. A third gen steering gear box is also in the plans.

So, will I see a good improvement if I get the tall ball joints or am I just throwing expensive parts at my car without knowing what I'm doing?

G-mod instead of tall ball joints

Not much response here...

Anyway I decided to do the Guldstrand mod instead of ordering the tall ball joints. Looking at the template and reading the text at David Pozzis site got me thinking though.

Should I really relocate the A-arms rearward? I suppose it's a good way to gain some caster if you're using stock A-arms but is it needed in my case with Global West arms? They have all the needed caster already built into them, right?

...and how much should I lower the fixing points?
1,060" front and 0,775" rear as David, or
0,875" front and 0,775" rear as Chicane67?

Can somebody please help me decide?

I have had many good conversations with Mark and went with his 'regular' tall UBJ's for my street car. I think it's a good cost effective improvement.

I would suggest the more mild of the two G Mods. There have been countless variations and everyone has their own version. Either of the ones you listed will work fine, the first just removes more anti dive and gives just a little more camber change (not enought to notice the difference between the two). If you liek the geometry gain from the G Mod and want more of the same you can combine it with our std. tall ball joints. Our X-Tall combined with the G Mod is too much of a good thing and the geometry starts getting worse. The X-tall alone yields more geometry gain that any accepted version of the G Mod though.
