Reminder to get a fire exstinguisher in your car!
It is very possible I would have lost my car today if it wasn't for having a fire exstinguisher handy. Took my car into ATS and on hard decel the engine flooded and wouldn't refire. The unspent fuel caught on fire in the header collector. Thankfully I remembered to bring it along and Tyler also came running with his and we got it out right away. Buy yourself one today and put it in your car! I was very fortunate but things could have turned out much different. Bad luck but also good luck that it's not on the way to the junk yard right now.

And for the sake of your car buy a good one. The money you spend on a halon type unit will pay off big time if you ever have to use it.
Glad this ended well for you! Steven |
Damn Todd that was close!! Glad it turned out fine in the end! How bad will the clean up be? When we had a kitchen fire I unloaded a fire exstinguisher and was able to put out the fire....but DAMN was it messy!!

I've never ran so fast in my life. I heard the car coming about a block away and stepped out side to watch the approach. When he went to re-fire the car after the stall flames shot out from the headers and lit the under body right up. I swore that I would burn my arms to try and save the car if need be. I'm glad it only got some yellow powder on it and Todd lost some wiring insulation near his TKO 600 wiring. Other than a new element for his air cleaner, the car came away mostly unharmed. I had visions of us watching the car burn to the ground and I'm super grateful that it didn't. He will be detailing a once flawless engine compartment for months and will probably find fire extinguisher dust for the next 8 years.

Tyler, thank you for your quick thinking and helping me put out the flames. I think things could of been much worse without the dueling extinguishers. My good buddy Ben that was following let me know right away as well. That sks undercoating holds up to the heat!!! Glad I didn't paint the floors!
