A 67 Camaro @ Ironworks??????
5 Attachment(s)
Well we picked up a 67 RS/SS 3 weeks ago from Rich Allen in Martinez Ca. Since we picked it up we have made our own mini tubs so we could get the car to sit where we wanted. You will notice the radius is tighter then stock. It looks like a 315 may fit under the rear at the ride height we have. We got the Ls2 Rich had built a while back. We installed it and are looking to get a Procharger on this engine her in the next week. We have 2 plans that should get it on there with the Synister bracket systems. We got the subframe connectors installed today from DSE. The Mattison Radiator is a really nice piece. We also cleaned up the front valance and are working on tring to decide exactly how we want to modfy the bumpers. You will see the mods we already made in the pics. I would say we are heading in the right direction. I really dig the stance we got on the car and think we can get the exhaust over the axle pretty easy. We will begin building the exhaust here pretty soon and fine tuning some details before we get some paint on this Camaro....... This is kind weird to say that.
Rich had collected some of the very best parts avalible for this build and we are honored to be able to put this bad boy togther for him. He is trying to decide between either the Fikse 13 spokes or the 11 spoke HRE wheels. We will be running BFG rubber. It has ATS spindles on the front with Some Wilwood SL6's and SL4's. Let me know how you think we are doing for some guys who weld the car to the chassis table to begin work. This seems a little strange to not order 10 stick of DOM tubing to start a project. |
A Camaro at Ironworks? No..Say it isn't so? And to think most of us thought you only knew how to do Nova's  Looks great!! No doubt will be happy with his choice to give it to you guys!!

The stance is wicked! I'm jealous!!
The work on the lower valance is awesome. Looks clean and not overly done. |
I think you guys nailed the stance.never heard of that kind of radiator.looks like a nice one.

Looks good Rodger! Like what I see so far!! Will you be using a front bumper? How about turn signal location? What's the car going to end up looking like...does Rich have a rendering done yet? Paint color, trim, ect?
Keep up the great work!! |
I made the 580 mile round trip to see Rodgers shop and the work completed over this past couple weeks. I have to say that every time I meet with Rodger I come away more impressed than before. The shop, equipment and the projects on the floor are beyond exceptional and speak for themselves.
A major portion of the shop is dedicated to fabrication while another portion is dedicated to clean work. As far as my build, I let Rodger make all the decisions on the stance, tubs, valance and bumper work, I figure why tell an artist how to paint right? Were deciding on the marker lights now... The car will have them we just haven't decided what kind or where... At one point we were considering 69 style markers. I'm thinking about a couple different colors, Rodger thinks a color similar to the military coating you see on Meziere water pumps with flat black hockey stripes. Thanks again Rodger, you've given me that extra push I needed to complete this project. Rich |
Awesome. Was waiting to see this thread get started!

Well I think Rich liked what he saw..... There were no Nova parts on his car. We kept his car pretty much separated from the Big nova gang on the other side of the shop. I will start a link on my website with some more pics of the mini tubs and many of the other aspects of the build as we progress. Rich informed me today we just need to order the wheels and get the decision over with. Apparently he is not sleeping to well right now. HEHE
The next few steps will be the exhaust, Procharger and intercooler, and ordering the wheels. It was great hanging out with you this morning, This project should be pretty interesting in the next few weeks. Rodger |
