Turn Key Engines

Have you guys had any experience with Turn Key Engines. I can get a LS2 510 Horse with the correct serp system (AC,PS,WATER,ALT), Long tubes (coated), Fuel system minus the lines and tank, engine mounting brackets to mount to original sub-frame and wiring harness (5-wire hook-up) for $12,100 Also I can get a LS3 for $12,400 with the same stuff which one should I go with?

Thanks

Kevin

Doesn't seem like much power for that kind of money.

Trying to Decide SBC or LS

I am racking my brain trying to figure out which way to go I can get a 510 horse sbc for $5000 and EFI for $3000. The LS stuff scares me because of all the stuff you need to make it work and is more costly. Some of the guys talk about $3000 EMS for the LS and with the engines running $7000-8000 plus all the other stuff I just dont know. These guys are SUPPOSED to have a system to just drop in and go. Who knows! IS THERE a BETTER WAY?

Thanks Guys

You are a wealth of info

As Van B said, That is a bunch of cheese for that motor. I would rather look at a 480HP LS3 for less money.

I have not used them but I have three good friends that have LS1 long travel desert cars (100K buggies :faint: ) with his engines. They take them south of the border balls out several hundred miles each trip and they run solid. Turn Key Engine Supply is also the preferred C.O.R.R. off road truck engine supplier. I think Kolby has done good for himself and everything I heard has been good. I have another friend that has one of his ecotec 2.2L in his Baja bug. I would agree that at first glance the price seems high but it includes headers, efi fuel pump etc. Everything including sensors. I went with LS3 but thought I could save some coin also and did not use him. In reality though I will be in the same range. It just seemed less of a blow because it was spread out to a few suppliers over time.

If that engine uses the stock serpentine system and you want AC in your car; the frame will require notching to install it.

I believe you will need a rack as well, the stock serpentine setup puts the alternator into the steering pump.

I didn't notice what car you have but this is the case for 1st gen camaros.

Hey Mike,

I'm using the Synister setup. Luckily I bought mine before they were having all the shipping trouble.

The after market systems move the AC pump and Alt. up top so they don't interfere.

Were trying to add a procharger to the synister system now, i will post up some pics as soon as we get it all mocked up.

Hope all has been well with you and yours,

Rich

I had a group buy working a few months ago for LS3's. I could do the 480 hp engine with GM's new harness for 7500.00 Shipped. If your interested I maybe able to pull that off again.

Thanks guys for the input and help

MY CAR
69 Camaro that my mom bought new straight 6 250 2sp powerglide Completly tore apart. Side note I have a pile of original parts that are not going to be used if anyone is interested.

There kit does move the AC to the top and I already have a Power Rack. I am interested in any way to save money. I just don't know enough about putting a LS in a 69 camaro to track down all the parts at a good price. It seems like most of the people on sites, not just this one, either do junkyard stuff, which is great I just don't have any good ones, or they have way more money than me (or that my wife will let me spend) ha ha. By the way this is the best site I have been on! You guys are a wealth of information.
I wanted to do a twin turbo motor but soon found out that the motor alone, if done right, would eat up most of my budget. Any help appreciated
