Shocks with Hotchkis
What type of shocks are you guys using with the Hotchkis 2" drop springs? Going on a 69 camaro, Small block, orig control arms.
|
Hotchkis / Bilsteins are the best bet.

I just did a 68 camaro with a TVS kit and put Monroe Sensa-Trac on it, The customer just picked the car up today, and he said he most be picking up a different car, causes it rides so much different. I hated to give it back.

I got koni classic on my 68 bird with the 2 inch drops looks perfect ride quality as wel

Im running the QA1 adjustables and i havent had any problems and really like them

Bilstein or Koni will both work very nice on a performance street car. Buy them from whoever has the best price. Both are valved too soft, especially in rebound for track day or auto cross if you want to do well. Then you get into adj. rate shocks. QA1 or Varishock are the next step up. Naturally I prefer the Varishocks for several reasons. I think the performance/tuning gains of the adj. shocks are well worth the money if budget will allow. Mark SC&C

New Guy
I am new to this forum from camaros.net. I will be having lots of questions about front and rear suspensions. I intend on adding a mini tub kit and want to know all the ins and outs about the rear shock mounts being cut out when I do the mini tub I assume I wont need to relocate or re add them if I am going quadlink rear?
|
We sell and install quite a few mini tubs and suspensions. If you use a Quadralink, you will be installing a crossmember for your shocks. if you use a Prodigy Bar, you will get a new cradle crossmeber with it. Either are a great choice for mini tub cars.
If you have any questions, feel free to call. You can see various suspension project on our site |
Thanks, so that means when I cut them out to add the mini tub I dont have to replace them because it all comes with whatever package I choose as long as I am not using leaf springs.
|
Exactly, even with Leaf springs you do not replace them. But if you use a leaf or Qudra Link, you are going to install a 6" wide crossmember back there. Prodigy Bar, no crossmember, no shocks towers.
