my car would do so utterly horrible, but it would be fun! I'm seriously thinking about it :)

You got good brakes right?

It's not so much about your car as it is about learning how to drive it. They'll have classroom instruction and driving instruction. Then I'm assuming they'll have run groups based on vehicle/driver ability so you won't be getting in anybody's way. :) Cost is $160.00 and all the track time you want from what I hear. This came from a Vette owner I met at B.I.R. Wednesday night. I'll be getting more details soon.

I don't think I'm going to be able to make it... I think my $160 entry + $140 gas to get there would be better spent on a pair of fatman spindles :unibrow:

I don't think I'll ever run one of the Corvette Club events at BIR. They are well known for running BIR backwards, which is an incredibly stupid thing to do.

BIR is meant to be run one way, and that's not backwards. There are little to no run-off areas when run backwards, and it's just flat out not safe. They are also well known for not paying/hiring corner workers which is another unsafe decision.

I've run at BIR a number of times and will only do so when properly staffed and run.

We did not run backwards. Can't imagine why they would do that and nobody I talked to ever ran it that way.

There were no corner workers. I agree that it would be safer if there were because I came upon an "incident" that left a ton of debris on the track at turn 2. I would have been alerted to this sooner if there were corner workers. Luckily I noticed that the pylon marking the apex was gone which raised the red flag in my head.

It was a wild day. Many Vettes were passed. Many interesting comments. Severe damage to a brand new Ford GT following an off course excursion. I have in car video being passed by that very car a few laps before he went off. Also have some other cool in car footage. Some showing going down the front straight at 147 mph. Nearly one hours worth, all in Hi Def. Gotta figure out how to get it off the camera and hosted somewhere. I'll try and get my story up by tomorrow night after I watch all the video.
