'66 Chevelle 300

This is my first REAL project. ('real' meaning my prelude won't be respected as an actual project here  ). I bought it back in mid-February, looking like this:

http://img386.imageshack.us/img386/1203/03uk7.jpg

Used it as a daily driver when i wasn't on the motorcycle, then almost sold it in the spring but decided to keep it.
I spent some time during spring break making a custom fiberglass glovebox with CF head unit relocator, which i may or may not keep using

Then after i brought it home to my parent's house for the summer while i've been at college, my dad (Lenie) saw it as a cure for his anxiety (the "my car still isn't back to me?!?!?!" type of anxiety)

He got a deal on some bucket seats, my grandpa re-covered them and then my dad sprayed the backs to match the car
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/2...1448fe3lp4.jpg

then sanding and body work became a good anxiety cure
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/3833/dsc01331eu8.jpg

spray padre, spray
http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/8472/dsc01348jv4.jpg

a li'l wheel mockup

dash received color :-)

then the filter cover, valve covers, and then the control arms and firewall were sprayed black
http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/3270/dsc01562am9.jpg

then yup.... the body pieces made it in
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/6991/dsc01532ju9.jpg

and then the car
http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/1016/dsc01554te2.jpg

two nights ago, the car got brought home and the rear wheel was mounted to check fitment
http://img122.imageshack.us/img122/420/dsc01571cj4.jpg

then this afternoon my dad got the inner fender wells and both fenders mounted

and he got the seat brackets welded in

thanks dad... you're stealing my project, but i love it... you're the man! :hail: :willy:

SHOCKWAVES INSTALLED :)

anyways, 6hr job turned into 2 week job with all the stuff that came in the way, but it was definitely worth it!
I had been riding around on cut springs up until now. I couldn't turn the wheel more than a crank and a half in either direction b/c we cut them so low, feels amazing being able to lift it a bit for driving and not having to worry about if i can maneuver in/out of a spot. Not to mention the ride quality is AMAZING! so much more solid.
here's a few pics from the install

before tearing into it
http://www.cullenhammphotography.com...ated/a (3).jpg

all the old stuff removed
http://www.cullenhammphotography.com...ated/a (5).jpg

mocked up the setup to figure out where the frame needed to be cut
http://www.cullenhammphotography.com...ated/a (8).jpg

let the experienced grandpa cut the frame. his pace is a good solid 10x what i was doing :p
http://www.cullenhammphotography.com...ted/a (25).jpg

all installed
http://www.cullenhammphotography.com...ted/a (36).jpg

old/new.... SO much more of the frame had to be cut than i anticipated!
a lot less clutter... i love it!
http://www.cullenhammphotography.com...ed/compare.jpg

high vs low... could raise it another 1.5 in or so if i reallllly needed to go do some wheelin

Looks great! Thanks for representing the home state for Rushforth Wheels! I keep hearing reports about the car from local shows. Can't wait to see it in person. GoodGuys Puyallup? Don't forget, Chris (YouthPastor) is having a BBQ Friday night after the show.

Keep up the good work! That car has come a long way in a very short time!

Nice car! Always liked the 300's.
I am also a NW member. Stanwood to be exact. Hope to see you and the car at the show!
