Project:(blank 4 now) 72 chevelle
Just like to introduce my project (nameless for now) 1972 chevelle I am currently working on and must have finished before June 26th 2010. Why you might ask?Because my soon 2 be wife will kill me if I don't show up in the chevelle for our wedding due to fact I look at Lateral-g,Chevelles.com,Ls1 tech.com and Pro-touring every night hahahaha she really wants the car to be finished so she can spend more time with me and not to mention she wants to ride in a cool car !!!
So for the details so far ( pics will come) I have a ls1 est till dynoed and tuned 450rwhp - backed by 40l60e built by friend / Dannys Transmissions,Yank 3200ss.I am using ATS mounts. suspension goes- Curries upper adjustable control arms in rear,Currie lower control arms,Bilstein shocks,SC&C upper adjustable control arms, lower control arms boxed, Howe tall ball joints,Eibach lowering springs, Del-lum bushings in lower control arms from ATS. Jeep steering box Magnaflow exhaust ss 2.5 C5 brake conversion home grown  using kore3 bracket in front. Wheels- hahaha you will have to wait and see when they get here in a few weeks  Frame has been reinforced and powdered coated ( I will learn to mock first next time and not switch engines) Factory 12 bolt with new posi,33 spline axles, new bearings etc. Muscle Rodz led tail lights Coming soon: Vintage Air IV Magnum Prodigy radiator hydro boost setup efi gas tank - ordered but on b/o Pro car rally seats crap load of parts coming in this weekend from Hinshaw Chevelle (local to James). looking at some billete (Fesler) I have most the suspension and chassis done now for body work which i really don't know much about when having to replace 2 full quarters, full trunk, buttom of back seat but guess I better learn fast if I don't wanna be left standing since we live in NC and our wedding will be at her parents farm in MN. 3 year build and first big trip is going to be me driving to my wedding fingers crossed tearing up the roads. I feel I am going to need alot of help  I would like to thank Team Chevelle,Ls1tech and Lateral-g for helping me out so far along with my first real hotrod ever. Brandon  |

This site gets so many hits a day it's hard to tell which of those views are members of the forum. I lurked here for 6 months before I registered. Some of the cars featured here are so outrageous I think a lot of folks believe their cars aren't good enough, the opposite is actually true but if you don't hang out here its not as noticiable to most. How many car forums have builds going to SEMA? Just my 2 cents. Post up some pics as soon as you can. Rich |
Just found this thread. Sounds like you've got a well thought out build and a very supportive wife to be.
Can't wait to see pics of the progress. |
well thought out yeah i thought so to till i made common mistake of a first time builder! you learn as you go and will continue that way always. i will try to post pictures over the weekend. brandon

I've purchased expensive parts, installed them and later sold them before actually using them because I wanted something better. That's the one mistake that makes you mad as hell and yet it's still kinda cool. :_paranoid
If I could give any advice it would be to "know your own taste and habits". If you think your build could get out of hand (money wise) then extend your schedule don't down grade your project. You will wind up buying stuff twice and in the end the project will cost more. Rich |
