Powder coating the transmission

My transmission was just completed by D&D Performance, it doesn't look near as good as I thought it would so I'm considering putting a clear or light gray color powder coating case.

Can I do this without disassembling the trans?

If not, does anyone have any ideas on cleaning it up to look new and preserving the look?

I was thinking maybe sand blasting the outside then spraying a clear over it.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I would not sandblast the trans since it is done. Could void any warranty. The case should have been bead blasted when apart. I think the best thing you can do now is tape it off real good and wire wheel the case. Find a silver or gray paint and spray it. Matt

The case came back from D&D and it didn't look a bit different than when I shipped it to them. The T56 comes with a clear paint of some kind on it. The problem is getting that clear off and then applying a different coating.

Thanks for the suggestion Matt.
