Here is what I just got for $4000
http://www.z069.us/67_mustang/exterior/stang11.jpg http://www.z069.us/67_mustang/exterior/stang4.jpg http://www.z069.us/67_mustang/interior/stang6.jpg More pics on my site at http://www.z069.us/67_mustang/pics.htm It does need full restoration.. very minor rust in a couple of spots and needs new front floor pans (mostly passenger side).. very solid great running car with a 289 (alum intake, 4 barrel, 3 speed automatic) Now the question is should I flip it and make a grand or two or keep if for the next PHR project car? If I sold it I would find a car in a bit rougher shape appearance wise.. Thoughts? |
did the coupe have to be a driver?.... if not i could hook ya up with a decent roller...disk brakes, 8", had an alum head 351W... a buddy bought it out of the local nickel paper for 2500 cash... just for the engine.... wants to off the shell(last time i talked to him anyway)
flip the car for a couple grand profit... and pick up this shell...be into it.... cheap or ahead... lemme know i can talk to him and get ya pics if ya want. |

A car with el cheap steel rims, minimal rust and a sorta running 289 or I6 would be perfect.. oh and the interior that looks like badgers lived in it.. I would be interested in seeing pics of the car you mentioned though.. ya never know if the rest of the car is in good shape.. |
i'm on it
the car is/was a driver... like i said... he bought it for the engine.... he might even have a spare 302 layin around to throw back in it. i will find out for ya |
Wow, there's a guy on my corner that has a red one with the 6 cyl. I think it is not running as of late because he has started weed eating around it. Memphis is a long way from Cali but I can ask him. I would probably find a beater to do the PHR treatment on. The car you bought just "looks" to good. But this could be just coverup cosmetics.

Keep in mind that pictures hide a thousand sins.. the car is clean but def needs to be stripped and restored.. most suspension/steering parts are worn and it it afflicted with small dents (dings) and tiny areas of rust.. and it needs a passengers side floor. But it does have curb appeal.. it is funny how many  i get just cruising around in it.. lol
I think I will put it up and see what happens.. worst case is that it doesn't sell and I rip it apart for the project.. best case is I make a few grand.. win/win.. Time to hit Craigs List :D |
damn..looks like a true GT too. I'd like to find a nice deal like that. I'd say sell it to a forum member.

You're such a transaction junkie. That looks like a nice car. And we want to see more baseline data in PHR. Keep it! Brian Cichocki's bronze/black coupe turned out awesome. You can build one just as nice. Plus the readers need to know that they can still find a nice muscle car for not a lot of coin.
I know it's your car and you can do what you want--but if you're factoring your readers into the equation, this car will make a great logical progression after g/28--only with true 60's muscle. /Steevo |
The stang is badass  The cool part about this whole project is your building something an average guy can do. I think you will be the most famous tech editor in the world!!!!! :unibrow:

http://adcache.collectorcartraderonl...7/80620977.htm Sure it is ugly but if solid the perfect car.. and there WILL be a 67/68 Stang coupe done regardless if I sell this one and do the next. The 68 is officially the next project car but it will be a shorter series and not budget at all, want to touch on some of the nice stuff like the LS2, C5 front sub and such.. that will give me time to line up my ducks for the Mustang project which will be more like g-28 in that it will go from a POS to a good handling and fun car on a moderate budget -- $20k sound reasonable again?.. not counting paint/body.. I agree on the low buck approach and that is why a fastback does not make any sense.. it is also why I would like to find as good and inexpensive a car as possible. If I flip this car I might even include that in the story like a "property ladder".. lol. I found a cool possible motor as well.. it is a 302 stroked out to 347 and it makes 405hp and 440tq.. it also revs to 6800. Weighs less than a Windsor and is only $5500 complete from carb to pan. I have to get all the specs and curves but it seems like a good open track day motor. |
