1st Gen Camaros, what to look for

The wife wants a muscle car and we found a 67 Camaro that she loves. We are going to look at it tomorrow, but I'm a Mustang guy and I don't know what to look for in a Camaro. It has a 383, 5 speed, Hugger Orange with white rally stripes, disc brakes, and appears only slightly rough around the edges. I don't know what the normal trouble spots are though. Where are the hidden rust spots? What kinds of things should be deal breakers? Any info you guys could deal out would be great.

i would say
1. around the rear and front windows. right where the stainless trim is look for bubbling
2. check the trunk out good. climb in there and look up in the back of the truck. bring a flashlight.
3. quarters and rocker panles. also wheel wells make sure they are nice and crisp and not loaded up with filler.
4. Floors. try your best to see what the floors look like top and bottom.

Got a link with pictures on it we can look at? How much are they asking??

www.autosourcehawaii.com

They're asking around $19,900. The tag on the window says 23,000. The sales girl on the showroom floor didn't know anything about the car. The place sells a lot a exotics, not really a muscle car place.

Pictures don't really show the good spots to look at. If the car is rust free and everything works, it could be worth that much. Do you have plans to add any thing to it or change??

Here's a link to my photobucket account where I have pictures for my 67 that I am selling. It might give you some ideas as I tried to cover all the areas people ask me about. Doesn't matter that you a Mustang guy...I'm sure you know a solid car when you see one.

Feel free to PM me if I can help in anyway.

We don't have any plans to add anything unless the wife wants an automatic, and I think we've pretty much decided to buy it. We do plan to clean it up a bit. It appears to be a decent driver right now, and I'm in the middle of a pretty in-depth Mustang project. But that's a subject for another thread all together. Eventually we'll probably turn it into a project, but it's going to be a weekend driver for now. I didn't see a photobucket link, but I saw your homepage and your car is insane. I'm pretty jealous.
