1st Gen Camaro body questions

Has anyone with a first gen welded up the front end? Fenders, upper and lower valance, ect. Ive been thinking about welding everything as one and making it one complete piece. Has anyone on here done this? Pics? Thanks!

The welder better know what he is doing. I saw one that was just finished and already cracking at the upper valance a few weeks ago. I personally don't like it, but if you like it, go for it, it's your car.

Very nice! I like it, I would love to see it with a stock hood and grill but that looks good.

My biggest concern was always about how hard it would be to get the front end off if you need to.... pulling it all in one peice would be alot more awkward....doable but harder...

I think solid subframe and core support bushings would be key to making this work. Did that car have solid bushings?

How about the one you built Pete?

Seems as though you could weld a plate on the underside from panel to panel to help support the seems.

I don't know. A welded in sub would be a requirement. Might as well weld the fenders to the car. Not really much different than dealing with a 3rd or 4th gen F body once installed. What Pete did is what I would do.
