Over 1,000 SEMA photos (and Optima Challenge)

Enjoy over 1,000 views that I experienced first hand at SEMA last week. Great show, as usual.

Thanks for the pics!

It looks like my buddy in town did manage to get his car back together...

He broke the block (again) and lunched the motor at Thunderhill 2 weeks before the Optima Challenge... I'm surprised he got it back together! He's a crazy SOB running that original Shelby as hard as he does, he does frequent SCCA vintage events and track days with it nearly exclusively and he drives it hard.

He did VERY well on the road course. I think he had the 2nd fastest lap overall. Soon after it looked like he hurt something and didn't finish the rest of the event.

The engine was thrown together in a BIG hurry, so I wouldn't doubt something was missed. I need to go down to his shop and finish tuning an EFI setup this week, so I'll get more details.

He's a damn good driver-- a bit too aggressive at times (he gets flagged for unsafe passes with alarming regularity, LOL!) The car is pretty stock overall though in terms of suspension & drivetrain.

His track-only Mustang is quite a bit faster, and if it had a license plate he would have brought that instead. It's all bolt-on TCP suspension but has fender & quarter flares with 315/35/17 front and rear and an EFI 427" aluminum SBF, Jerico 4-speed, and CNC brakes. That car is a blast around a track... but the Shelby is no slouch either.

Nice pictures Tony. Good to meet you and other members here.
Big Red sounded nice and nasty....like a big block should. The Mustang was really cool. I think somebody said he lost an oil line.

Pretty sure that thing didn't have leaf springs under it. I vaguely recall seeing some sort of modern rear suspension under it. It ran bad ass too, even on those narrow tires.

Anyone know anything about this one?
