how hard to cover your door panels yourself?
 
is it possible for the average guy to recover his stock door panels with some sort of pleather?leather ect.im looking for a little more modern look from my 68 camaro.any do it yourself kits?out there

It is not that hard. You need to get a thin 1/8" firm foam from the interior supply and cover the panel first in that to bridge the seam at the top of the panel where it meets the board. Then glue and stretch.

It's easier than you would think. I used 1/4" landau foam because I wanted to give it some lines but you could use 1/8" if you want it pretty flat. there's a million ways to do it.

I just looked around at what I wanted and went from there. There are tons of styles you can go with that you don't even have to sew. just use contact cement to glue your foam down get it how you want it and then put the leather over it. then turn it over and staple the edges to the back of the board. pretty easy.
