LS engine mounts to keep back of engine the same as Gen1 sbc

Hi I 'm doing a 69 Camaro Project FNQUIK. The engine I have ready to go in is a Bill Mitchell 454 sbc ,but I'm thinking putting it up forsale and going with an LS2 in stead. I searched old threads but didn't find what I need . I have a Keisler Viper T56 perfect fit kit for my car it has hydraulic clutch setup. I would like to keep the trans in the same place if at all possible. Does any one make engine mounts that keep the back of the engine the same place as a Gen 1 sbc ? If so which headers work with them?
Any help will be appreciated Thanks Wayne

interesting question. In my Chevelle the ATS mounts moved the bellhousing flange on the engine 1.5" forward or so. Thing is, if it would not have the engine would have hit the firewall, the passenger side head is less than an inch from it now.

The LS doesn't have the extension area for the bellhousing like an older sbc has, it's real flat and almost equal with the rear of the head. I'm sure a mount could be built that keeps it the same (if it's not already), but it probably wouldn't let the engine clear in some cars.

Thanks Jody I have a smooth firewall maybe that will help me . I am just trying to figure out if its workable. I would put my 454 small block up for sale .

I think it will work, as mine has 1.5" or so of frame pad setback, which makes it very snug. Without that setback you should be able to get it in the exact same place, if you can find a mount that'll put it there.
