GM Ramjet into '69 Chevelle?

Surely somebody must know if a GMPP Ramjet will fit on a big block 496 in a '69 Chevelle SS and still provide hood clearance on a stock Super Sport hood?

Anyone seen it done? Any feedback would be GREATLY appreciated.

on a cowl hood it clears, look like it has enough room to clear with an SS hood. Not sure, but they may have cut the plenum a bit, don't remember.

Thanks Jody.....sure looks like it might fit. Anyone else have any good input?
From what I can tell from GM specs, it will be close, but I do NOT want to swap out the SS hood!:(

Won't fit

For those that may have any interest: the Ramjet will not fit into a '69 w/ stock SS hood. Intake height is 11" which is too high.....S&P offers one cut down to 10" but still too tall.

Decided to run a tuner special from Edelbrock: 1600cfm throttle body kit, Victor Jr. intake w/ injectors & fuel rails. Running a GM computer (circa 1990) cuz it has the best tunability.

Should run like a raped ape: Dart Pro1 heads, .650 lift cam, big duration.....:unibrow:

I admire your insistence on keeping the SS hood. It's a great looking hood and would be a bigger compromise to swap than swapping the intake even if it might be easier or cheaper.

Thanks- it's not usually the easiest route, but staying a bit subtle (visually) is important to us. Sometimes, it's what you don't see that is most impressive. Gaudy hoods really detract from the aesthetic appeal of really clean cars IMO.

The stock hood would look cool, but the cowl looks so much "meaner".
Especially with a Ram Jet under the hood. Just my opinion.
