Long term engine build
My current 350 does me just fine for now, but I want something around 450hp (for my 67 Camaro). I'd like to keep it a small block for compatibility. I guess my question to you all is: should I just build up a 450hp 350, drop in a LS 364, or would even hunting for a junkyard LSx be a viable option? I want to keep the engine build as cheap as possible while getting the most amount of hp. Suggestions?

LS-2 "stock"
My vote, a stock LS-2 2006+, "junk-yard" engine.
The '67 look could be easy if the GMPP "spider" intake is fitted. Then find a quality, FAIR PRICED, precalibrated, tunable with software GUI, EMS. This replaces the stock engine controller, to get good power without having to waste extra fuel to keep the "cats" hot. I have dynoed this myself, 475HP@7000 RPM, ALL stock OEM engine parts inside, LS-2 corvette. The redline, we run 7500 RPM with no valve float. Lance |
