Camaro spring perch location
Anybody know what angle the spring perches are supposed to be in relation to the pinion housing. I am measuring 4-5 degrees does this seem correct? I took the cover off and put a level across the opening. Then I put the angle finder on the perch where the spring sits. I am relocating the perches because of mini tubbing.
Thanks |
Come on guys nobody has done this before when mini tubbing? Am I asking something too technical for you all???:(

vicious69,
Im no expert but I believe you should measure the angle of your driveshaft or driveline at the transmission. When I did my mini tub set up, I used the adjustable perches from DSE mocked the whole thing up had 2.5 deg down at my drive shaft and rotated the rear down a 1/2 to 1 deg. This gives a total of 3 to 3.5 degrees of pinion angle, I then welded. For you to just pick an angle from perches to pinion with out knowing where the driveline angle is may get you in trouble. Hope this helps, you may want to try the search function it really helps me often. Rich |
you posted the same question on two different boards but with different measurments, you need to make sure it is measured correctly to star with, don't worry about the trans to pinion angles at this point that has to be done in the car with the correct weight and suspension on level surface

Factory OE... is 4*
It would be better that you set the angle once you are sure of your loaded driveline angle... so that you wont have to make changes to an already complete assembly. |
Thanks guys for the help. I will wait till we have the drive train in just to make sure it is correct. I don't like doing things twice.
