1967 Culture Shock Camaro VS. 2008 Nissan GT-R

Friendly competition. I was on pump gas (pump gas = 18psi of Boost & race gas = 37psi of Boost). CS Camaro is no slouch even on pump gas. Note that I was granny shifting and shifting very early (you can tell in the video). When in gear the CS Camaro pulls very strongly. The GT-R is seamless in the way it drives, the tranny shifts so fast. Every gear I shifted the GT-R caught back up until I got back in gear to pull on it.

We accelerated from 60 to 130 had to slow down due to traffic in Mexico. Oh and its in Kilometer Per Hour if you are a cop and need to know. If I was on race gas the GT-R would be done for. So even on everyday pump gas the CS Camaro can keep up with the toughest street competition.

I have great respect for the GT-R after seeing how it performs. I can tell you that car is very underrated in HP. I believe it makes 520-550HP, not the 480HP that it is advertised with. The GT-R is more than likely faster than my Lamborghini Gallardo (even though the Gallardo is rated to have 20HP more and about 300-400lbs lighter, because the GT-R HP is way underrated of course). Of course the CS Camaro is way faster than my Lamborghini.

Unfortunately I don't have a video of this, but on a previous cruise out in Mexico the CS Camaro came up on several Japanese Sport Bikes and took them by surpise. They were quite stunned that a old school Camaro pulled so hard on them. Of course in this incident the CS Camaro was running on medium (not even high) boost setting, not low boost when racing the GT-R.

Hope you enjoy the video, we had a long drive back to the U.S. after this. ;)

No they are not all 2JZs! lol We have Big Blocks, Small Blocks, Twin Turbo V8s, etc. We are very open minded. You want us to put a AMG V12 Twin Turbo in one and we'll do it. I personally want to do a V10 from a Lamborghini. Can you imagine that high pitch F1 sound from a Camaro? haha

Yeah it was really slow, I'm not a racer. I need to have someone else drive it to perform how it should. Hey but it shows a bad driver in this car can still hang with the best!

Ted

Picked up the new issue of "Heavy Hitters" mag the other day in the store after seeing the feature on your cars. You have some nice toys there!

Thanks for the support Mike! I get a lot of ideas for my muscle cars from the other types of cars I own. You could say my Camaros have a little bit of Italian, Japanese, German and of course American influence. ;)
