Scotts Camaro
i have been playing around with Scott Camaro again
and i just wanted to get some comments on the renders. i have been going for the studio look with these renders, and i was just wondering what people look for in a good photo. Ones you would put in a mag or something like that. http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...render_031.jpg http://i725.photobucket.com/albums/w...an/test_12.jpg here are 2 of my better renders, so i just wanted to ask, if you where taking pitures of this car what would you do to make the photo look better. thanks Tom |
That look Good Tom maybe the front end needs to come down a tad on Scotts car in the render
What about depth of paint, reflections and mor elight maybe? |
looks good, must have taken time to do.. but the base geometry is off... way to many straight lines, it makes it look like a toy,
the roof is flat, the rear spoiler is straight, the front consists of straight lines, the upper line of the front fenters dont flow with the door, it looks like the sides are paralell.. the rear quarter is straight and the transition to the radius is off, the upper line of the quarter looks to be a radius, and not the "airfoil" of the original. wheel openings are too large ant the front wheel isnt centered.... dont take the post wrong, i admire the work, but that is what jumped at me when i looked at it |
i would have loved that comment about a year ago when i was doing the body. at this late stage, there isnt much i can do to the body, it would be like repairing a repair of a repair, i would need to start the body agian to fix a lot of the problems, and at the moment i dont have the time.
but i am goin to save that post and put it with my file so if i do get back to it, i know where i have gone wrong in the past. thanks for the post. |
Yeah, the wheel openings are definitely out of proportion to the wheels. Maybe increase the o.d. of the wheels slightly to help close the gap.

well as far as making it look like a studio photograph, I think you did a nice job. Typically seems like they have nice sharp reflections of the lighting, use the lighting to show body styling and just generally make the car look flawless. It certainly has a studio photo look.

Nice start! Seems to me the light angle is more from above, the vertical areas of the car are a bit "dark" and there isn't much of a focus area? Would you want to highlight one area like the grille/front fender 3/4 view area? Not a pro picture guy but that's what came to mind...
