67 Project

About to take 67 Camaro LS1/ T56 off the rotissere. Help me make the list of equipment I need to help get it on it's wheels. Have nothing but the shell and drivetrain. What do you guys think I should put under this gem to be?

I moved your thread for better exposure to the suspension dudes.

What's the budget? What type of driving and where? Do you prefer the look of a stock frame or aftermarket tubular style? Do you have a stock frame? Do you want a leaf spring car or coil over based suspension? Are you going to mini-tub the car? What size wheels/tires?

These are the kind of answers we need to send you in the right direction.

I have a stock powder coated subframe, 19x10 and 18x8.5 C6 wheels from a 07 Corvette. I would like to not mini tub the car, have planned on using some spacers and rolling the inner fender lip. I plan on installing ATS AFX spindles, but havenot decided on A arms or brakes brands as of yet. My budjet is undetermined as I have not quite decided what to install on the hot rod. Also going to install an ATS kit for the transmission. The car will have a 10 bolt 3.73 posi, and also have not decided for the rear suspension.

Love to see a 67 getting the treatment! If your considering any parts from ATS I suggest you get on it right away! Tyler can help you with most of your questions...he's a busy man these days, but I know he will take the time to help you get your build sheet lined out. Give him a call, let him know what your thoughts are and ask about getting the parts from him that you need. He is slowing things down at ATS for awhile, but if he gets enough orders he'll make a run on those parts. 702-245-6305

Post some pictures when you can. We're all watching. :D

What to put under it is a big question. Absolutly the most popular question I deal with on the tech line. it is really all about needs, desires, goals, reality and budget. And those can very well all be different things.

Iit is the point where the lines cross that is the sweet spot.

Putting together a package that flows, where one does not over spend in one area, or under spend in another, that is the real trick to (1) actually being able to finish the project, and (2) ending up with a car that works well as a package together.

You are welcome to call and discuss your project in detail.

More info

With the 19x10 rear wheels can I use drop rear leaf springs? Should I just be using the stock height ones.

The 19x10's are not going to fit

without a slight mini-tub. I am assuming you are going to be running the 285/35/19 tires. Mounted and inflated they are about 11.5 inches at the sidewall. I would do the full DSE mini treatment incase you want to go larger later.

The fronts are going to take spacers...maybe close to 2 inches. If it is stock width. Not sure how much track width gain you get with the AFX spindle.

Rear Springs

I don't plan on going bigger in the furture would just like to get it on the road for now. With DSE no fittament issues even with no mini tub?

ProdigyCustoms 02-17-2009 08:54 PM

Your pushing it with 10s and 285. 275/35/19s MAYBE! But 285s...................Your pushing it.

latzoo 02-17-2009 09:19 PM

285

No tires have been purchased yet so if I buy smaller tires no tubbing?
