FAST EFI BBC 1000HP kit
Anyone on here have first hand experience with this kit FAST is selling? I'm still on the fence on running EFI with my 540BBC. Not sure the $4k spent on it balances out for me. 95% street driven with auto trans.
Here are a few concerns I have: 1. How loud is the fuel pump on this system? It looks like an Aeromotive pump, not sure which model. 2. What intake is used? 3. Can I piece together a system for less or same price that is better suited for my application? Thanks for any input. Getting ready to pull the trigger soon. |
I am moderately interested in that kit as well. Probably not this year but maybe next:D

The fuel pump on any 1000HP set up is going to make some noise. Yes we could piece togehter a custom kit for the same money, but this kit is pretty dialed in as it is. We also have the Accel complete kits either will serve you fine.

Thanks for the info guys...
One other thing I was wondering about is throttle response with these large BBC motors with EFI. Are they neck snapping??? :unibrow: |
Yes big power they are. We run a couple high big blocks in house that are injected, both are pretty fricken fast!

Fast Fuel injection for BB
I have seriously thought the same and will probably purchase the FAST system very soon--the more i read the more i am impressed. You just don't see a lot of BB fuel injection cars. I have a 540 BB and look forward to the responsiveness that only fuel injection gives. I think a aluminum flywheel is on my list of goodies this year to help with a more responsive motor. I also like the idea of different timing options this system offers.
I currently run a 1050 Holley dominator that performs good most of the time. Greg |
I also like the fact the ECU can control various areas, ie kill AC compressor at WOT, adjust for cold/hot temps, adjust for ambient air temp, spark timing, and so on. No matter how good of a carb you have, it cannot compare to the EFI advantages. I hated the stinky smell of a pig-rich holley, to me it's worth spending 4k on not smelling like that.
I'm pretty much sold on this kit, I just need to figure out how long it would take me to get it installed and running :D |
If I wouldn't have just got my car reliable and reworked the fuel system I would be doing it tomorrow. I feel like I have to enjoy my labor for a while. I also like the idea of an aftermarket fabricated intake. Fuel injected big block is high on my priority list.

Planning on going with the Fast system for my big block. But I want to get my car on the road and all the bugs worked out first and to drive it a bit. But definitely on my list of upgrades.

Installaion time, if you brought a running / driging carb car to us and we did the sway, we could do it in 2 days/ But ten again, we have done a few now and have ome experiance under our belt. BUT FAST has te best instructions of all the high end systems.
When ever your ready, look into a system from us, we hve some sweet deals |
