Thinking of buying this car, need some info...

Alright here is my situation;
Iam seriously interested in purchasing a 98 Camaro SS. The price seems too good to be true though...$2500. The car was bought by the current owner without him knowing that there was an auto title loan out on the vehicle from the person he bought the car from. The current owner has a signed, noterized and dated bill of sale for the car, and is in the process of filing for a mechanics lien to obtain the cars title. How does that work and if he does obtain the title can i purchase the car from him free and clear without the possibiltiy of the original owner coming back for the car through legal action? What would you guys do?....

Here is the link to the car and info;

First get the vin and trace it make sure its not stolen.And http://www.broadwaytitle.com/ can get you a title i have used them on older cars was 150 last time i done it.

if the car comes back as not being stolen, how does that Broadway Title company help with a car that has a title loan out on it? Doesnt that have to paid off before i can buy it?

I don't think there's any way you're going to get the title until the leinholder is paid off. You better find out who they are and what it'll take to pay them off before even considering giving the guy any money. They have the title, and a mechanics lein or a title company isn't going to do it if there's someone else as a leinholder.

Well, after doing some more research and talking with the seller I figure I'd better not get involved in it. I see more pain and frustration coming from this than anything else. Thanks guys, I really appreciate your help.

Probably a wise choice to stay away from it.:_paranoid
