1968 Camaro Pricing Question
 

I have been undecided about selling my 1968 camaro for a long time. This guy offered to buy it today that is pretty well off and it really got me thinking about what I would be willing to accept for it. I figured this is a good place to come for some good advice on if I am expecting to much or too little. Car is still not for sale yet just considering it. Here are some pics for ya'll to judge from. The car has a worn out 350, runs fine just needs rebuilt, no real performance parts. t350 trans. open axle. power steering. power disks on the front and drums on the rear. no ac. a little rust in all of the general spots. a few door dings. I don't honestly think I would sell the car for less than 25,000 but I don't think anyone would pay that much for one. well let me know if ya'll think I'm expecting to much or what. thanks and love the site.

$20k -$25k may be reasonable. These cars have gotten ridiculously expensive over the past year. Rust free cars go for like $10-$15k so $25 doesn't seem to hard to achieve with one of your condition.

Also, my uncle has a 69 fastback that is in primer and still needs door panels and few other things installed, and was offered $16k. These cars are pretty much the same value so yeah.

Thanks for the input. Just seemed like a lot to expect for a 40 year old car. I always see those advertisements for rusted out cars that people want 80 bazzilion dollars for and didn't want to be that guy. 20 to 25 does seem like a reasonable amount though. Thanks again

my advice to you is not to sell right now with the economy the way it is but i paid 15500 for mine he originaly wanted 23000

In today's market, don't expect to pull in as much as in years past. 15K to 18K seems a more reasonable price as your car sits.
Just watched the latest MECUM Muscle Car auction this past weekend and you would be AMAZED at what the prices were. These cars were all simply spotless and bringing in less than half what they were a year ago. It was almost too tough to watch.

if it was mine and he was gonna give me 25k id take it..but its not my car to decide..from what you described i put car in 15-18k range..

He never said a price. He kept bothering me about selling the car, so I tell him it isn't for sale. Later he pulls me to the side and says he really is interested if I want to sell it, and to make him an offer. I've never actually considered it so I didn't know how much my car is worth to me.

The first guy to name a number loses! Let him make you an offer.:thumbsup:

Wait for his offer, or hold on to it till the market gets better. I wish I waited till now to buy mine.
