longarms vs 4-link

i wanted to get some opinions on what would be a better set up for me. i have an 88 s10 2wd that im slowly building, and im trying to decide between a longarm (truckarm) rear suspension like the one sold by hotrodstohell.net. or a triangulated 4-link rear suspension. the truck is daily driver. does minimal if any hauling. will only see the drag strip a couple times a year. i would also like to take autocrossing on occasion. basically just want it to handle good and ride decent. i know that either one should be an improvment over the leafsprings. never really seen anyone the longarms on an s10. thank you

I installed one of the HHTH truck arm set ups about 4 years ago. It was on an 83 elcamino. This was a high end six figure build that I did while employeed at Hot Rod Garage. The craftmanship back then was ruff and I had to tweek somethings to get it to fit correctly. Exhaust routing is very difficult if you want to get past the crossmemeber as the truck arms are positioned in the middle of the normal routing locations. It rode well and ride height adjustments are easy but the jacking screws needs a holes to access them. These hole will be in your bed floor. I never got to drive the car hard to see how it handled but IMO it is an upgrade to leaf springs but a well engineered triangulated 4 link would be another step up.

Must come in waves. I had not heard much about the truck arms till recently. But I see it coming up. I personally dont know anything about them, but here are some other discussions going on. JR

I emailed them not long ago about the s10 truck arm kit.The downsides to it is the exhaust will have to dump before the axle and probably have to lose the stock gas tank. You could do something like this http://www.kplinks.com/product.php?p...&cat=72&page=1 and rig up some coil over mounts top and bottom.Or go for a air bag kit or use a universal 4 link kit.
