I was at the GTO Woodward Tigers show. It is held the same weekend as the Woodward Dream Cruise in metro Detroit. It is the largest gathering of GTO's period. An excess of 300 GTO cars.

Yet there was only one pro touring car. Most GTO lovers seem to be purist.

Very nice car Chris. There are alot of similarities in your car and mine. Are you going to use factory A/C? If so, the right GTO cover will probably not fit, too tight clearance with the a/c fan. Ask me how I know :unibrow: If it is not too late in your plans, you may want to consider the vintage air unit. I would if I did not already have the car back together. I look forward to seeing your car finished.

Jim, that's a pic of Campisi's garage. I wish mine looked like that.

Thanks guys - I've burried myself in this car over the last month. Finally got the car back from the custom header company (KooKs) and It's my job now to get it running. This is supposed to be the fun part, run all the linkage and set the clutch pedal up among a bazillion other things. I was also setting up my hydroboost I received from Paul about 10 months ago. I found myself getting a little burned out trying to set up the battery in trunk with the box and run the grounds, it was killing me.

I jumped around alittle from engine wiring then air intake tube, soldering some wires, throttle cable, clutch, finding out that the guy sent me the wrong gas pedal, I wanted the one not pinned to the floor. As far as A/C Bill I know I need it but it needs to wait, I say that now because it's cold here but email me next summer (LOL). I did not pretty up the engine yet because I feel As if I need to hear the engine run to have confidence that I wont be taking it out and doing double the work.

I built that garage to house the Corvette and Formula Firebird, but they are gone now. Everyone said it was not a working garage, that it looked more show, I told them I built it with almost everything I may need to build a monster - they just look with a blank stare. They don't understand, ha

I still have my ls1 -edit to help me tune the car but best of all one of my good friends are the guys from the Vette Doctors herein NY and he will be the one to put the initial tune on her.

Hey bill you are killing me - I've been looking for the completed pics of your car and It seems as if your holding out till SEMA - I like the way you mini tubbed the car - If I had to do it again I would try to do that - maybe the next project.

Hey Roger you are right - The Pontiac crowd are 98 % purist. I for one love a stock musclecar but this 65 GTO that I had was so crippled I was afraid to drive it. The 4 wheel drums were the worst.

Well, sorry for rambling.

Chris
