New Project 72 Camaro Coolwelder62
3 Attachment(s)
Yesterday it snowed 6 inches so i went out in the shop and fabbed up a new subframe for my next project car a 72' camaro. When the weather gets a little nicer i am going to get the shell media blasted and get started on the sheetmetal install. The car is a little rough right now so i am going to wait until it is in a little better shape to post pics...so far the only pictures i have are of the subframe. Scott

Next time it snows 6 inches, if you could just fab me up a subframe for my camaro that would be great. That is one nice frame, looks very professional. Cannot wait to start seeing progress pics of the car.

I really am not trying to rain on a parade or anything, but the thing that scares me about doing my own subframe is how in the world will it look after the alignment. Will there be 30 shims on one side and the need for -30 shims on the other, LOL! How does one find where to locate mounting points and how do you get one side to be near exactly as the other. Then how will it ride and handle with your weight, center of gravity and weight bias? Don't mean to highjack. I really like what I am seeing here, just have a few questions on how it's done. Thanks.

Suspenion math
Thanks for the kind words. I had my 3rd. grader do the math & plot the suspenion pick up points. I am pretty sure it work work just fine. I am not going to use shims I think I will have that same 3rd. grader machine me some soild alum. spacers. You know kind of like what Art morrison uses on their fine driving frt. subframe.
