C5/C6 drivetrain ?'s.

On these cars, I understand the transaxle is mounted in the rear, and a torque tube transfers power from the engine to the transaxle.

Now on a manual transmission, is the clutch/flywheel mounted in the rear by the transaxle? Or is it mounted on the engine?

If the engine is running, does that also mean the torque tube is spinning? Whether it be manual or auto.

C5

Torque converter and clutch are still mounted on the back of the motor. Why do you ask as I feel a new project is being thought about?

I know that 21st has seperated the transmission from the rearend and are having a custom yoke built so they can run a standard driveshaft to work the C5 rear to avoid using the transaxle and torque tube.

Thanks

Just curious to see if the torque tube spun all the time. I guess it doesn't.
