ABS plastic modeling/bonding?

O.K. a question for my old parts hauler, a 56 Chevrolet panel truck.

Because of the closed panel sides, save driving is more than a chance of luck with the small side mirrors.
So i came up with the next thing, find some mirrors that i could use and fit the style of the truck(i know my taste is famous:lol: )

Found some mirrors full elect. about 20 wires in each of them and fitted them to my truck.

Now i need to remodel the base to follow the shape of the doors.
There is a gap from 1 '' to 1/8 to fill.
What kind of stuff to use, like to bond it to the org. mirror feet (the abs plastic) so the finnished product can be fitted to the door with a thin rubber gasket between the door and mirror

Hope some one can help.

I've seen a couple guys use ABS plastic sheets then use the shavings from cutting it mixed with MEK (Methylene ? ?) I have NO clue what it's called haha, but I know its MEK and that will make an ABS plastic adhesive and build it up let it dry and sand it smooth.

Duramix makes some good products for that type of repair.
