Hi everyone,my name is Stan ,I live in southeast Pa,recently found this site and thought I would share my one year of progress on my 1969 Camaro. It started life as a 6 cly auto and was headed for the dragstrip when I found it.So far I have had the shell sandblasted and replaced the entire floorpan assy, trunk assy, tail panel, inner tail panel, both quarters, left rocker,inner(mini-tub) and outer wheel wells and roof panel.I sectioned the toe panels and patched the inner rockers. The sandblaster had it for 2 months last winter but this past spring and summer I got all the sheetmetal welded on and most of the bodywork done on the shell.I plated and smoothed the firewall and installed mini-tubs but not the crossmember. The plan for the rear suspension is the DSE 4-link,big brakes,17inch wheels and a Ford 9 inch rear.I am sure I can get a lot of great ideas from everyone here.I think it's a great site for sharing ideas.

Wow, the skeleton pic is something. You really put some time into the car.
Welcome aboard. |
Welcome to the site Stan, i'm sure you'll get all of the information you need to help finish your car, it's looking good. After replacing all of those parts I guess it was hardly worth blasting the shell as there's not much of the original left huh? lol :unibrow:

WOW, big project. It looks like it's turning out great! I can tell you that there is nothing like the first time you get it on the road... and it over heats! :D LOL! No, it really is fun when it starts up for that first time and you get any bugs worked out and then take it on the first drive. Keep those pictures coming. ;) :D

Thank you everyone for the welcome.Dont worry I have plenty of pics,I just have to resize them so they fit..That skeleton shot was taken AFTER the floor ,trunk and wheelhouses were replaced.I think I can say that this is a rust free car now.I will be looking to all you guys for help and advice on suspension, drivetrain and interior.I do have a 406 small block ready to go.I am waiting to see what other kind of rear suspension options pop up in the near future. For now I plan to fit the front end sheetmetal and doors.A few pics included of the S-10 that I built for my son that motivated me to build a car for myself. It was a rust bucket with a blown motor. Thanks again and good luck to everyone.
