1969 Camaro Indy Pace Car Convertible New to site

I live in virginia and have been into mud racing and drag racing for several years. I have a 1969 camaro Indy Pace Car Convertible. It has been in the family for years and is time it gets some much needed attention. I have been following the pro touring movement for a couple years now and am a big fan of it. My goal for the car is to be able to drive it regularly and take it to some track days at vir a couple times a year. While at the same time respecting the fact that it is a semi rare car and I should not cut it up. Looking for input on suspension, steering, efi, and transmission. I can't decide wether to go with a big block or small block. I am wondering if the big block is a mistake for the road crouse.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Welcome. I had a few Pace Cars over the years. Second most popular / reconizable cars I ever had. EVERYONE had a story about owning or knowing someone that owned a Pace Car.

Keep us up to date on tricking out your Pace Car. And If we can be of any help...................

I did not think that the Super Chevy show there was good this year. There were barely enough cars to occupy the car show area. Forget the vendors If you were looking for anything???

I am from King George Hour north of richmond

Wolf, modifying a rare car such as yours, I would be a little hesitant. I know stock is sometimes boring but in your case, I would'nt touch that car. You might want to look at a re-pop Camaro from Year-One and then just go ape-s#@t with all of the aftermarket goodies available. Just my 2 cents. Have a good one bro and welcome to the site.
