--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
the last of 33 omega's imported into the US. It has an italian hand made body, ford running gear (sbf, top loader, 9" rear), offset Three link with panhard and double a-arm front suspension. this was a holman moody engineered car, one of his first. This will be my next project after im done with my 65 falcon and my dads 65 mustang (k-model) drag car. Im thinking about the ultimate race/street car, with this body. It weighs 2600lbs now, I think i can take a few hundred off. an aluminum sbf 475ci, with a procharger at 20psi. Make my own suspension all four corners. But the body has to look like it was made that way with a 60s styling. All carbon wil be painted body color. keep the interior original. it will be fun when im done. If you look real close you can see my falcon in the reflection of the trailer wheels. |
I bet you could lose a hundred pounds by swapping those tires. They are freaking huge!
Weird car did it have a production car chassis or was it unique to those cars? |
its a one off frame, It has a full frame but welded to the body,
HAHA, yes the tires will be the first to go, maybe just a 15" or a 16" wheel I want to keep some sidewall on the tires, since it will be a 60 themed car. |
Sweet ride. I was thinking Oldsmobile Omega :D

this is what I think of when I think Omega never seen one like that before - Ford had a thing with half-breeds: Pantera, Cobra and this -I know there was another and the name escapes me now, good luck with your project looks like a super import killer  |
its a very interesting car, I cant wait to start the project.
ford did some good stuff in the 60s |
Cool car! I have always been a fan of the Italian hybrids. The Omega is related to the Intermeccanica Torino & Italia, in case you didn't know.
A few of my favorite "hybrids" are the De Tomaso Longchamp, with a Ford 351. http://images.forum-auto.com/mesimag...yalami1bj7.jpg And the Iso Rivolta, running a Chevrolet 327 http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2216/...1800213b_o.jpg Shiny Side Up! Bill |
thank you, Yes i know a lot about the car. My dad has owned it since 77. now its my next project, HAHA. Im stealing it form him.
I did a lot of research to decide how much i can cut on the car. I think i can do whatever i want. every omega they made was a litle different. and this was the last one they made, VIN ends in a 33. and they only made 33 |

i think i can build this into a super car! literally. light weight, great suspension, tons of horsepower. and awesome looks.
my end result would be a 60's super car. something that would have beat the GT40. |
