4l60e

i have access to a fully built 4l60e out of an ls1 style camaro. i can get this thing with the 3600 yank converter for a smooth grand. i know that i will have to get a controller to control the transmission buy my main question is what will i have to do to get this to bolt up to my early small block? is there an adaptor plate or spacer? what problems am i going to run into trying to mate this ls1 trans to my early model sbc?

i dont think it will work. the ls1 4l60e converter is bigger than the earlier ones. will probably be to tight

Sounds like a steal. You are way ahead of the game. Bellhousing is fine. But you will need a different converter. Shouldn't be too hard to sell that 3600 converter. That's too much stall for a pro-touring car anyway. Confirm the year of transmission. If you cannot confirm, give me a call and I'll talk you thru identifying your transmission input shaft. With the transmission side handled, the torque converter's front cover needs to match your gen 1 engine. That's the best way to get the job done.

We can build a converter to match your exact requirements.
