mobile version of web site
 

Would it possible to have a mobile version of lateral-g for users to access while on their blackberries, iphones, etc. I don't know how much work it is to set it up, but I know at www.stevesnovasite.com they have a mobile version of the site. It's nice when I load it up my blackberry, it doesn't load up all the pics, sponsers, etc. nice if I want to check the site while on the road.

I have no problem going to these sites with my IPhone. Even though it is an older 2G one, it works fine.

The site is great on my Ipod Touch, but not so great on my Blackberry.

I can access the site on my blackberry without issue. It's just that when I do access it, it loads up all the banners and pics killing my bandwith. Right now I have so much data transfer per month and if I access this site alot, it uses a fair bit up. I've just noticed that other sites have a mobile version that doesn't load up all the banners/pics/etc saving on the bandwith. That's all I was thinking.

If you follow Scott's link, you'll notice that Google is translating the page and removing the banners and most of the images. It's used specifically for this purpose. :thumbsup:

If you use google on your phone you can set the google mobile settings to convert pages to mobile format. then anything you search from google will be in a mobile format as long as google can convert it.
