Any recommendations for shipping body panels?

I have a trunk floor and some misc. sheetmetal that I need to have shipped to me from MS, I am in CA.. The dimensions he gave me are 50hx24dx50w at 125#`s. I am sure a good number of you have been in this boat before so I'm hoping someone can give me a point in the right direction. Obviously, I am looking for a good price as I am paying alot for the panels and the budget is quickly drying up for this...

Thank you !

Jason

I have used fed ex or fedex freight. If was $65 for complete set of gto seats from San Jose to Socal and $70 for front fenders from socal to tx.

Good idea Jason, I didn`t think about doing this. Hopefully someone will come in with a good idea

Any other ideas? I believe Fed Ex has been looked into already... I want to get this transaction taken care of and hope to get the shipper some ideas. All of the shipping companies around here are California specific and without being back east, I can't do alot other than look for options for him this way.

Thanks to all !

I've actually heard good things about Greyhound.......my understanding is that they actually take better care of the parts than UPS, Fedex, ect.

But I have never used them.

I used Greyhound to ship a hood.....to0k 6 weeks from NY to Oregon... they have no tracking system at all..... its based on a "space available" shipping....if they have room it goes on the bus...if they dont it waits at the terminal for the next bus that has room etc etc. My experiecne sucked...

When I have ordered through Goodmark quarter panels and such I buy as much as possible at one time. 1 quarter panel costs the same as 4 or 5. Shipping on the stuff sucks. I try to order everything for like 4 cars at one time.

One of my buddies ordered a hood for one of his friend's truck and had it shipped here. Well it was wrong and they told him to just keep the hood, because it cost more to ship it to them, then the hood actually cost to buy.

Contact Freight Center.com, they sub from Yellow. Cheapest prices I came across for panels Ive shipped and car bodies. However the last item I shipped was damaged by them. Insure your pieces being shipped.

I've used Greyhound a couple times for large heavy bumper assemblies (a 68 lemans with all the headlights etc and a 70 firebird with all the stuff) coast to coast without delays or incidents. For larger stuff I use Freightquote.com.
Next week I have a set of Firebird buckets and rear seat going from south Florida to Ohio on a skid and it was just over $200.00. weight 175 lbs including skid
