Lizard Skin?

I am ready to soundproof my interior floor pan. I am considering Lizard Skin over Dynamat. Has anyone used the Lizard Skin and
what did they like or dislike about it?
Thanks Kevin

We use Lizard Skin in our cars, good stuff, make sure you mask off EVERYTHING !!! that you do not want to LIzard skin, you will use 4 gallons of the SC (sound control) and 2 -4 gal of the CI (ceramic insulation). Spraying the SC out of the bucket like they say you can, is not recomended fill the cup and spray out of that.. keeping the gun clean in between cup refills is also recomended.

Aaron,

I will be spraying my car next week, I think. So i do have a few questions.

1) Should I spray one of the products on before the other? I would think that I should spray the CI first.

2) As for the amount you mentioned is that for the floor, or does that also include roof, door panels, trunk area, etc...

3) I plan on masking everythign off, but i guess i will need to rip it all up and tehn after the first product cures, then re mask everthign and spray the other...

Hi Kevin and James

You need to spray the SC Sound Control first then the CI Ceramic Insulation on top. The amount that you use will be up to you but it is recomended that you have a finished film build of 40 - 50 mils. On average you will use 4 gal of SC to cover the inside of the car, IE floor, trunk, door panels and head liner, You will need less CI because you don't have to cover the same amount of surface, do the floor and the roof and fire wall.

You do not need to remask between coats but it will take you approximately two days to apply the coats allowing the recomended drying times.

NOTE: kEEP THE GUN CLEAN!!! DO NOT LET IT SET UP IN THE GUN!!!!

Good Luck

Aaron

Is this all getting sprayed on top of the floor, or is the CI going under it?
I've been thinking of doing CI on the bottom and sound control on the top. Would there be any reasons to not do it this way?
