Hello all,

Well going to try something different. Current project is a 1963 Pontiac tempest. The car originally had a 4 cylinder and IRS transaxle, but will be switched out for a Pontiac 428 and a ford 9” rear end. Lets see how this goes. Pictures will follow.

Nice project! This site is so cool, where else can you see the variety of cars all aiming for similar goals? Welcome and please keep the updates coming.
Do you know what that 4cyl was rated at for horse power? I didn't even know there was a 4cyl option for those cars. Too cool!

Thanks,

Plan as of now are to install 9" ford via the 3-link option. Just cut rear wheel wells out for clearance. Going to test fit some wheels I have lying around. I have not decided what to do with front end just yet. I will post some pictures of wheel options.

The Pontiac 4 cylinder put out anywhere from 110 to 140 horsepower depending on options. They also had a 4 barrel option that put out roughly 155 horsepower.

First pics are with 295-50-15 on a weld prostar. Second set is with a 335-35-17 on a american racing wheel. Let me know what you think.

I really like the way the American racing wheel looks. The mat grey center looks better to me than a polished or chrome center.

Thanks,
Still undecided on the 15" or the 17" wheel. Here are a couple of shots on the ground.

This is a pro-tour site so the BIG wheel will win everytime around here but I like the look of the Weld Pro Star in those pics. It's a toss up. You have to decide, street-strip or pro-touring.
