Powdercoat & undercoating

Hey folks,

Question on the front inner fenderwells for my Chevelle.

So my front inner fenderwells are powder coated black. I am wondering if I can or should consider using rubberized undercoating on the under side to reduce road/tire noise, etc.?

If so, how much prep work should I do to the powder coating before spraying the undercoat? Can I just sand/scuff it down a bit or do I need to remove the powder coat completely?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Use a red scotch bite pad and use truck bed liner, that stuff works awsome and applys neater than undercoating. You can even get the liner in a spray can.

yep, red scotch pad and truck bed coating from Duplicolor should do the job,

http://www.duplicolor.com/products/truckbed.html

just about every parts store and Wal-Mart has it both aerosol & gallon, quart cans, I use it all the time for touching up wheelwells, frames and bottom of fiberglass body kits, very easy to use, dries fast ,easy clean up and once dry, pretty nice finish, obviously it's nowhere near as durable as spray-on truck bedliner, but it's much better than asphalt & kerosene mixed junk some companies try to push as undercoating that will dry up ,fall off or get hosed off
