Ride Height Poll
I have access this weekend to a plasma cutter and a bunch of time. I need your opinions on the ride height in the rear of my car. I'm running an IRS from a C4, in order to lower the car over the wheels I need to move the IRS up into the car, this weekend is my chance. I need your help. as it sits now the half shafts are parallel to the ground, I think it's still to high. Maybe it's an optical illusion because of the 18x315 30ZR worn out auto x tires on it.
The front end is about 4" off the ground at the cross memeber and the a arms are parallel as well (C5 Front stuff). Both the front and rear have adjustable coil overs, but I want the starting point to be about right. I intend to auto x and road race this car with a mix of street driving. All opinions are welcome. (no comments on the ratty sheet metal) Here's the best pics I have to try and illistrate. http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f...g/P1020789.jpg http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f...g/P1020661.jpg http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f...g/P1020643.jpg http://i539.photobucket.com/albums/f...g/P1020657.jpg |

X2. I really like the wheel tire combo also. I agree. get ta cuttin.  |
drop it
|
i would say, move it up 3", that would lower the car about 2 and straighten the axles out. If it were mine i would move it up about 6" but i like stuff slammed though:_paranoid

drop it for sure.

do to the massive peer pressure, I dropped it 2" That's all I could get with out the top of the pumpkin getting into the floorpan. I still have to sort out the shock mounts and change springs to make up the difference. I'll post pics when I get it back on the ground. Thanks for all the input! oh, and the plasma cutter wouldn't work so I had to break out my trusty 4" grinder. I've built the whole car with that tool!

You might as well cut that floor pan to get the extra inch! you went this far come on now.. :woot:
