Gas Guage Wont Read.
put my narrowed tank in from dseand it only reads a quarter of a tank.whats my problem fellows?
You most likely need to give a bit more info, factory gauge? all you did was switch the tank? nothing else changed?
i have autometer guages.it was working fine.i minitubbed the car so i had to put in the narrowed tank and a dse sending unit.now my guage reads 1/4 of a tank when its full.

The new sender has to be the same resistance as the old one to read correctly. Sounds like it is not. Don |
Float could be hitting the tank. You said it worked before and you narrowed the fuel tank ? and it does not work now. thats what you should check
I bet the float is sticking or hitting something making unable to get full travel. I have had this happen before with both DSE and stock tanks.
lol I have the same problem, just havent had time to drop the tank and see whats going on. If i get to it soon ill let you know what I found out.
I have same problem since I put in my Rick's tank. Ordered a VDO sender 0-90 ohm. Wonder if I got the wrong part by mistake.
ya the float in the tank probably wont go all the way up for whatever reason.. happens pretty often, usually you buy a car and find that out later though lol..
