Recommendation for DSE Mini Tub Installation Person/Shop?
 

Hello all,

I'm getting ready to move on to the next stage of my build with my '69 Camaro, which is to purchase a DSE Mini-Tub kit. I live in Northern California, about 45 miles south of Sacramento. Does anyone know of a good installer that is relatively close to me? My car is a driver so I can drive it to the shop if it is reasonably close (like maybe 2 to 3 hours?).

And how long does the "typical" installation take? How much should I be expecting to spend? My car is more or less "finished", now, with pretty good paint and what not. Does installation mean my paint and existing body work on the rear quarter panels are going to get messed up?

P.S. Attached are some recent pictures of my car at a car show in Stockton.

It should be about a 40 hr job and it does not affect the outer wheel tub so your quarters will be fine. What is your plan for the rear end, exhaust, gas tank and rear seat?

I'm not exactly sure, yet, on the rear end. I'm thinking a DSE 4 link setup, or a Nascar style 3 link with pan-hard bar.

I'd like the exhaust to go straight out the back, like my car is, now. Only I want 3" mandrel bent exhaust, with x-pipe, and probably Flowmasters but I haven't fully decided on the muffler, yet. A set of Spintechs or maybe Magnaflow would be nice, too.

I'd like a larger, not-stock gas tank, one with 10AN fittings to match the 10AN fuel line I already have in the car. Currently I have a stock gas tank and I'd like that to go away. I'd love to have a gas tank like this guy has in his '69 Camaro (you can see it in the last attachment to this reply).

I'd like the back seat to stay as stock as possible. I.E., I'd like to not lose much of it, or as little of it as possible. My hope is to have the car look as stock as possible. The only give away would be the 335 tires in the rear. :unibrow:
