Applying Decals After Paint?

Hey guys, Im going to be painting a 1980 Z28 Camaro in a few days and was wanting to know how long I should wait to apply the Z28 decals to the car. Im not sure if it needs sufficient time (Ive heard up to 6 weeks) to out gas completely before I apply them or can I apply them within a day or two? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Had my one-piece TTA decal applied right after it was buffed it (couple days after paint). 4 years later, it still looks good. Hope this helps.

It really depends on what brand clear you are using. I use Dupont at work, and they recommend 72hrs. for their clear. All manufacturers are different, but I would wait at least 72hrs or more. The longer the better, clear coats can take up to 30+ days to fully cure. That is why it is not recommended to wax fresh paint for at least 30 days.

Just my .02,
Joe
