DSE control arm kit(Coilover)

hello everybody ,,,

am building a 69 firebird ,,, just got my control arm(Coilover) kit from DSE ,,, i really like the quality of there job ,,, but i wonder y do they use Koni shocks upside down ,,, i noticed that the koni shock has bearings in both sides ,,, i did not order the shocks yet ,,, is there any other shock brand that will fit the arms ,,, and if i want to use there arms with speedtech subframe what kind of modifications do i need to make ,,,

i really appreciate ur help since i did not order the koni shocks yet ,,,

thanks and regards ,,,

Mounting the shock upside down reduces your unsprung weight. Its not that uncommon.

I used QA1 c/o shocks on my stock frame that I modded with the DSE c/o conversion kit. You have to get the narrow bearing kit from QA1 as well as the standard bearings are too wide for the DSE mounts. My car was pretty low and needed 8" springs....I had 7" springs in it when I sold my frame late last year.

The DSE arms should bolt right up to the Speed Tech frame. It may take a differant length shock though....give ST a call, they have all the answers and are great to deal with!

Hope this helps some!!

And welcome to the site!!

hello there ,,,

thanks for ur replay ,,, can u give me some links where to find the narrow bearing kit ,,, the reason i want to buy the QA1 is to be able to use the speedtech frame ,,, so if i use the QA1 with my DSE arms(Coilover lower arm) all what i need is a smaller bearing for the shock lower mount ,,, and stock for the upper shock mount (in speedtech frame),,, am just kindda confused,,,

thanks and regard

You can get the bearings here
and here is Speed Tech's page...I would contact them to finalize your plan.

From looking a pics I would say yes you only need to use the narrow QA1 bearings on your lower control arms and not the ST frame upper mounts.
