Hi all. figured I would pop in and intro myself. My name is chris. I live in Eureka, Ca. I have been a mechanic pretty much most of my life and have loved cars as far back as I can remember. I am a member over on corvette forum.com as well but I sold the corvette. Currently I am working on a 72 el camino, it was my driver in my early 20's it now has a 454 with a 5 speed in it. the body was off and I powdercoated the frame and suspension. I started out with just "lets just freshen it up" and this is where I am. the suspension is pretty much stock except 2" lowering spring. and has 18" foose nitrous rims. the sheet metal is all orig except the tail gate. all of the trim is new, and I am in the middle of redoing the interior. this is the most involved I have ever been into a car and learned alot. then I found this site :hail: some of your cars are amazing..... the el camino is in the paint shop. I have done most of this car myself and seeing some of the cars you all have done is now getting me motivated to start on my 70 chevelle. well enough rambling. thanks for looking.

welcome to the site Chris. I love El Camino's............. :thumbsup: I got to drive a 72 to high school for 3 weeks, belonged to a friend of the family. Dark brown metallic, cowl hood, black stripes, tonneau cover, and Cragars (this was in 1974 :D ). I will never forget that car.

thanks for the welcome. I had a 72 chevelle in h.s. my first el camino was a 70 with a big block I drove it in tech school.(20years ago) always been a fan of A bodies. well gm muscle cars any way....
the 72 el camino I have now, I actually rescued from a wrecking yard about 14 years ago, it had a blown up motor/trans, missing a grille, a/c. the guy sold it to the wreckers because hea had to move and didn't have time or money to fix it. a 350, some suspension work and exh. and it was my driver for years.
