Chassisworks gStreet Coilover Conversion

I was reading through my Camaro Performers magazine yesterday and saw the Chassisworks gStreet coilover conversion listed under the control arms topic. Does anybody know much about them and how they compare to the Speetech's, Global West, and DSE's? It appears they mount in the stock location. Do they offer any improved geometry?

The big difference is that the Chassisworks G Street and DSE (1st Gen only) coil overs are the only true coil overs you listed. The others are hybrids, half coilover (the bottom) and half regular (the top), including DSE for the A body. Being a true coil over reduces sideloading because the upper and lower spring seats are both parallel to each other and perpendicular to the center axis of the shock. That side loading typically limits the hybrid systems to soft and moderate spring rates. The true coilover conversion setup in contrast uses a slightly shorter spring and so requires firmer spring rates to allow proper ride height and travel in bump. Depending on what spring rates you plan to run that may influence your decision. The G Street package is pretty slick, Chris Alston did a lot of refining on all the details. The G Street coil over package doesn`t in itself alter the geometry, apart from what you get from lowering it and the new alignment specs. Combine it with the new G Street tall spindles and then you`ll have revised performance geometry (corrected camber curves, raised and stabilized roll center etc.) and improved bumpsteer etc. Mark SC&C
