I tried doing a search but nothing came up. Does anyone know where I can get these brackets to make the cage go through the firewall? Does Detroit Speed sell these separately?

i dont think there is anyone that sell a product like that, DSE custom made those and the know the ones on the "one lap camaro"
had to be custom made also.

it would be cool if someone did start producing these though!

If you just want mounting brackets for downbars that are similar to those, ask Steve, I remember seeing set installed on the Track Rat project.

I just had a set made for my '72. My life long friend here owns a machine shop and whipped out a set for me. We made them 4.125 o.d., started with 3/4" steel, milled it out 1/4" leaving an 1/8" lip around the outside. Made a 1/4" plate to sit inside of it, then drilled and tapped for six holes using a 3/8 conical head bolt same as those in the pics.

I thought that there might be some demand for these so he is figureing up a price to do 50 sets at a time for me. The plates were for 1 5/8 tube to match up with the DSE roll bar kit I am building off of. I'll post pics and prices in the next week or so.

EDIT: I just talked to my machinist and he told me they would be made from 1034 hot roll steel. We could make these for around $140 a pair plus shipping. If this is in the ballpark let me know. A pair would be 2 of the reciever plates, 2 of the outer plates and the hardware. All you need then is tube and a welder.

Can you send some pictures of your design? I would really like to buy them from you but $140 seems like a lot for something so little. I don't know how much work and time it takes to make one of these so $140 might be a good deal so I don't know yet. I think the first thing I should do is go to a local machine shop and see how much they would charge. If they are charging around the same price, i'll just buy it from you. I would rather buy it from a forum member anyway.

I'll get some pics this week. The price is up in the air, it could be slightly cheaper. We are tossing around what we can do these for making 25 pair at a time and come out.
