Has anyone seen a 4" speedometer or tachometer?
I planed on sinking some Auto Meters into my stock Bezel
I bought one of the 2-5/8" gauges and it fits perfectly into the smaller openings, but the larger two holes are 4" I dont believe I'll have enough material to open up the holes to fit a 5" speedo and tach and I'm not to sure about using the 3-3/8 gauges.. I am hoping that someone makes a 4" but have not had any luck finding any :( |
Is this on the 70 camaro? If it is, take a look over at Nastyz28.com. There are a couple of really good threads on dash builds. Lot's of stock dashes with aftermarket gauges.

Nope,
Good on the 70 http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...maro/seat2.jpg this is for the Road Runner http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y17...nner/Gauge.jpg |
You just lost me. Camaro, maybe I can help. Mopar, not so much.
Only because I don't know. |

The Autometer 5" gauges are not 5" they are less. Even the outside of the trim ring is less than 5". In the second pic someone put the 3 3/8" Autometer gauges inside the stock trim rings of a Firebird dash panel.
The opening necessary for an analog 5" Autometer is 4 9/16" so you'd need to enlarge the opening by a little over 1/4" all around. If you're interested in the Autometer gauges, go to their site and pick a gauge. On the page for each particular gauge there's a link to a page with all the dimensions for all of the various models they sell. They're not exact though, the dimensions I listed above are exact for the cobalt series. http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...shbuild053.jpg http://i240.photobucket.com/albums/f...build012-1.jpg |
Those speed hut gauges were totally new for me!
Anybody have them? How are they compared to autometer or S-Ws? |
